Cloud Control: Automatic refresh of Weblogic domain members

by Tony van Esch on November 8, 2013 · 3 comments

It’s a fact that Weblogic domains are dynamic in nature, especially when SOA components are involved. Out of the box Cloud Control does not update the target list of a Weblogic domain. Ofcourse you can manually trigger a refresh of the Weblogic domain, but it would be much better to automate this procedure.
Automation can be achieved by enabling the ‘refresh domain’ job per domain.
Go to a domain and under the ‘General’ tab, click on the ‘Weblogic Domain Refreshed’ date.

To check the refresh jobs in Cloud Control, go to Enterprise > job > Activity

No more worries about stale targets!

More information in the Discovering New or Modified Domain Members in the Cloud Control Admin Guide.

Wish there was a way to deal with retired assets and versions, but this is a nice start for sure.

In Cloud Control 12c under the Refresh job tab “Parameters” there is a pull down option for “Add / Update / Remove Targets”
