by Peter Paul Van de Beek on September 14, 2010 · 0 comments

Recently there came two very easy ways to test drive Oracle SOA Suite 11g R1 PS2 and Oracle BPM 11g R1 PS2 available:

Pre-built Virtualbox

There is a Virtualbox appliance available with a fully configured, ready-to-use SOA/BPM 11g R1 installation.

All you need is to install Oracle VirtualBox on your desktop/laptop and import the SOA/BPM appliance and you are ready to try out SOA 11g including the recently released BPM 11g – no installation and configuration required!

This page contains a list of the software versions used, requirements, and setup instructions.

Amazon EC2 – AMI

A few months ago Oracle BPM 11gR1, including the latest Oracle SOA Suite 11gR1 Patchset-2 became available as an Amazon Machine Image (AMI).

This is a fully configured image which requires absolutely no installation and lets you get hands on experience with the software within minutes. This image has all the required software installed and configured.

This post describes detailed instructions on how to use the AMI. Some of our previous findings with EC2 and the Oracle SOA Suite and BPM AMI are recorded here.
